Survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Mary Jane (Spurrier) and his loving children: son, Theodore and his wife, Terri of Seattle, daughter, Rebecca Reinhart and her husband, Will Plumley of Portland, Maine, and son, Scott of Kettering; three grandchildren, Andrea, Tom and Philip Reinhart; two step-grandchildren, Josie and Theron; step-great-granddaughter, Mikayla, all of Seattle; sister, Barbara Johnson and her children all of Florida, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Ruth Spurrier of Wyoming. After service in the U.S. Air Force, Ted graduated from Case Institute of Technology in 1955 with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. He devoted his long career to the field of composites: development, application, and research. Ted was a member of several professional societies, including American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Society of Aerospace and Materials Processing Engineers (SAMPE) where he was an elected Fellow. After retirement from WPAFB, Ted worked for the University of Dayton Research Institute in the Materials Engineering Division. Ted loved being a mentor to young engineers, fostering their development as valuable contributors to the Air Force and to the country. He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and sang in the Chancel Choir. Ted leaves many dear friends, including those in the City Club, OCIC, and the Sunday Brunch Group. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.
