William G. Christensen

CHRISTENSEN, William G, age 95, of Centerville, formerly of Green Valley, AZ, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. William (Bill) was born on June 17, 1926 to the late William T. and Jennie (Gerdes) Christensen, in Goldfield, IA. His family including his two older sisters moved to the Dayton area. William graduated from Fairview high school in 1944 and following his graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and served his country overseas during WWII. After his discharge from the military he went on to school at the Montana School of Mines, and then completed his education at The University of Dayton. William earned his B.S in Engineering and began his long career as a designer/draftsman before retiring from Midwest Tool & Engineering after over 30 years of service. He married the love of his life Rose Snyder in 1955, before starting a family. After William’s retirement he and Rose relocated to Green Valley, AZ where they spent many happy (and warm) years together. When William wasn’t working he could often be found playing sports including tennis, racquetball, and golf, and was known for his tinkering and woodworking. His practical, quiet, and hardworking character will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

William is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Rose Christensen; sister, Margaret Mundhank; and his parents.

Survived by daughter Jennie (Joe) Kaltenback; granddaughter Jena (Stephen) Woods; great-grandson, Benjamin Woods; sister, Carolyn Smith; and other extended family and friends.

Family will greet friends and relatives from 11-12pm, on Thursday October 28, 2021, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St, Centerville, OH 45459. A graveside service will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens at 12:30pm. The family would like to thank the staff at 10 Wilmington Place as well as the nurses of BellaCare Hospice and Visiting Angels for the excellent support they provided for William and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the agencies that provided care for William.
