William Harry Yanko

YANKO, William Harry, age 96, of Kettering, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015. He was born January 6, 1919 to the late Alec and Helen Yanko. William earned his Bachelor's degree from Geneva College and PhD from Penn State, both in chemical engineering and worked in fertilizer manufacturing research and development. He attended Fairhaven Church and did volunteer work for the Boy Scouts of America. William is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, and his son, Billy. He is survived by his son, Richard (Gail) Yanko; daughter, Pamela Yanko; granddaughters, Lori (David) Camplin, Amy (Mark) Jewiskow, and Aelisa (Brandon) O'Brien; grandson, Joe Yanko; and his great-grandchildren, Brian and Jason Jewiskow. Private services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, at 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
