Adam Douglas Quinlan

April 1, 1980 — November 30, 2022

Adam Douglas Quinlan, age 42, of Dayton, OH passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 with his loving wife Miranda Zink Quinlan by his side after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma, stage four brain cancer.

Under the care of brilliant physicians, and with fearless determination, Adam bravely exhausted every medical option during his 21-month fight. His daily challenges were enormous, but he showed us all how to live life to the fullest and we will continue to ride the wave in his honor.

A former resident of Toronto, Ohio, Adam was born April 1, 1980 and was the son of P. Douglas and Cynthia (Simpson) Quinlan. Adam was proud of his academic accomplishments which included being selected for Buckeye Boys State, participating in the National Honors Society, and graduating in the Top 10 of his class at Catholic Central High School.

Adam attended the University of Dayton where he formed life-long friendships. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He was a brilliant engineer and proud of his 22-year career at Ulliman Schutte.

Adam was an avid music lover, attending more than 170 concerts and seeing 250 bands. Music touched Adam to his core, and he enjoyed sharing this passion with his family and friends. He was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes and faithfully followed the Dayton Flyers as a season ticket holder. He was a BBQ extraordinaire and enjoyed smoking food on his Traeger.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl (Doak) and Julia (Judy) Simpson and Paul A. and Grace Quinlan. In addition to his devoted wife and parents, Adam is survived by his sister, Carrie (Wilson Tucker) Quinlan and uncle, Chuck (Sheri) Simpson, with whom he had a close relationship. Adam also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that felt like family.
