MARTINDALE, Alex, age 35, of Kettering, OH passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was born on August 16, 1990, in Kettering to Doug and Leonda Martindale. Alex grew up in Bellbrook, OH and attended Alter High School before graduating from Bellbrook High School in 2009. From a young age Alex was a talented basketball player, and he played for St. Charles, Alter, and Bellbrook. He went on to attend the University of Cincinnati before returning to the Dayton area. Alex worked at the Victoria’s Secret call center in Kettering where he made many friends over the years. Recently he worked for American Help Marketplace where he enjoyed helping people.
Alex always looked forward to traveling with his family, especially on their yearly trips to Myrtle Beach. In his free time, he could often be found cheering on the Indiana Pacers and Cincinnati Bengals, his two favorite teams. One of Alex’s passions was spending time at the gym, where he meticulously crafted his workout regiments daily. Alex was a man who lived simply and will be remembered for his big heart.
He is preceded in death by his beloved paternal grandparents, C. Allyn and Joan Martindale; maternal grandparents, William and Frances Edsall; and uncle, Ron Edsall.
Alex is survived by his parents, Doug and Leonda Martindale; girlfriend, Sheri Chapman; uncle, Richard (Maura) Martindale; aunt, Phyllis Edsall; cousin, Liz (Adam Gluskin) Martindale; best friend, Julie Whetsone and numerous extended family and friends.
