Andrew "Andy" Burton Dohme

Apr 23, 1958 — Sep 24, 2026

Kettering, OH

Andrew "Andy" Burton Dohme, age 68, of Kettering, peacefully passed away on September 24, 2026, with ESPN on the television and his loving fiancée's hand in his.

A Dayton native, Andrew was born on April 23, 1958, to the late Richard and Phyllis Dohme. He graduated from Fairmont East High School in the class of 1976. Andrew had a strong work ethic from a young age, entering the work force while still in school. He was self-reliant and able to fund his first vehicle and home through his own hard work and determination. Andrew was an invaluable asset to Northwestern Tools, Inc., where he worked in their shipping department for over 35 years, also was a member of their softball team. Additionally, he loved his time working security for Hara Arena, where he met countless celebrities and entertainers. Andrew made friends wherever he went. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and feel at ease. Unsurprisingly, many celebrity talents contributed eagerly to his collection of memorabilia. Andrew was also a huge Ohio sports fan, following his teams with unmatched enthusiasm. He closely followed every match-up, attended games and watched even more, and collected treasured souvenirs along the way. Above all, Andrew will be remembered for his caring nature. He gave of himself, almost to a fault; always willing to help, even at his own expense. He was a regular blood donor, and continued to help others even after his passing, as a cornea donor. Also a member of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, his loss will be felt across the community of people who loved him.

Along with his parents, Andrew is preceded in death by his son, Anthony Dohme. He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Kimberly Walker; her children, LeeAnna, Rebecca (Dallas), and John (Kristine), and grandchildren, Skylar, Natalee, and Ryan, Jr.; best friend, David Hartzell; ex-wife and cherished friend, Amy Drew; brother, Randall Dohme; sister, Lynette Olson; nieces, nephews, and a host of treasured friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 10, at Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church in Kettering (4417 Bigger Rd.). Family and friends are invited to gather at 9:30am, with funeral service beginning at 11:00am. A reception will immediately follow the service in the fellowship hall. Andrew’s zest for life, priceless sense of humor, and altruistic nature were a gift to all who knew him. Please share your memories of Andrew, as a gift to all who mourn his loss.
