GEIS, Ann, age 91 of Centerville, OH passed away May 12, 2022. Graduated from Kettering Medical College of Nursing attaining her Registered Nursing degree. She worked at several physician offices throughout the Dayton area. Ann also worked at Kettering Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Greene Hall as an RN/Drug Rehab Nurse. Upon retirement, Ann was a literacy tutor both for a local prison and Sugarcreek Elementary School, and worked at the Washington Township Rec. Center where she enjoyed helping with the Woodland Lights Holiday display. Over the years, Ann was a member of the Dayton Garden Club where she won several awards for her artistic work, she was a parent chaperone for the St. Francis Teen Club, and she volunteered for the Dayton Chapter of the MS Society. In her free time, Ann enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, reading, traveling all over the country with Ray through the AAA Travel Club, long time Seasons tickets holder to Cincinnati Bengals games and through their foundations she volunteered for various programs that benefited inner-city kids. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Henry Hohm, mother, Charlotte Hohm; two sisters, Patricia Hohm Smith and Henrietta Hohm Lafferty, and her daughter-in-law, Janice Geis. Ann is survived by her husband of 67 years, Raymond Edward Geis; five children, Mary Ann Geis Campbell (Significant other, Charlie Luse), Raymond (Collette) Geis, Daniel Geis, David (Shari) Geis, and Julie (Mike) Edsall; 15 grandchildren, Heidi (Austin) Horn, Sheri (Eli) Sauter, Josh (Fiance’ Austin) Greenhorn, Jimmy Geis, Kiesha (Cameron) Johnson, Matthew Geis, Natalie (Ryan) Douglas, Randy Geis, Yoana Geis, Maria Geis, Nick (Katie) Geis, Tyler (Nikki) Geis, Justin (Destinee) Geis, Austin Edsall, and Kelly Edsall. Ann is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude for the wonderful support and care given by the staff at Harbor Chase of Beavercreek and Hospice of Dayton.
Services will be in care of Routsong Funeral Home Kettering (2100 E Stroop Rd Kettering, OH 45429) Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17 at 5pm until 7pm with a funeral service at Incarnation Church in Centerville, May 18 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter, The American Heart Association, or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
