Anna Maria Hogendoorn

HOGENDOORN, Anna Maria, age 85, of Centerville, formerly of The Netherlands, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021. Anna was born March 8, 1936 to the late Adrianus Gerardus Antonius Maria and Henriette Maria Hubertina Josephina (Specken) Buwalda. Before moving to the U.S., she worked in the university hospital as a lab technician. After she had children she dedicated her time to them and volunteered at school.

Once she moved to the U.S. with her family, Anna continued to volunteer, enjoyed sewing and was an avid stamp collector. She had a love for growing plants and flowers, and would spend hours tending to her garden. Anna was preceded in death by her son, Ewoud. Survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Jan Hogendoorn; son, Roland (Lynnee); grandchildren, Jonathan, Kalie, Alayna, Addison, and William; sisters, Marijke Buwalda and Henny Kramer; brothers, Herman Buwalda and Geert Buwalda, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends from 5:00pm-6:00pm Wednesday, December 22 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., with Memorial Services taking place at 6:00pm at the funeral home. For those unable to attend, services will be livestreamed on Routsong Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
