TRICK, Anne Patrice (Meseroll) 81, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023.
Born Patricia Anne (Patty) to Howard and Margaret Meseroll on September 28, 1941, she moved with her family from New Jersey to Ohio when she was five. Her faith was instilled in her early on and was a compass continually guiding her throughout her “three lives” as first a nun, then a wife, and finally a prolonged widow with a beautiful family.
Upon graduating from McNicholas High School in Cincinnati, Patty began her “first life” as a nun. She joined the Sisters of Saint Joseph in New Orleans and took the name Sister Anne Patrice. After 15 years of service with the sisters, Anne decided she could make a greater impact on the lives and faith of others through service in lay ministries.
Anne got a job working at Alter High School. She was soon courted by Leo Trick, and began her “second life” on August 16th, 1975 as a loving wife. Anne and Leo welcomed three children, Sarah, Emily, and Benjamin, to their home next to Alter High School. Anne’s life took a “third” turn when in October, 1981, Leo passed away. It was Anne’s faith and support from family, friends and neighbors that helped her raise her three children on her own.
In addition to teaching, Anne spent 23 years serving the St. Charles community, first as a pastoral associate and then as the Director of Religious Education, where she was able to share her deep faith with countless children and adults. Anne developed many life-long friendships throughout her time and service to the St. Charles community.
Anne retired from St. Charles in 2010. She devoted her retired life to volunteering with Christ Child, spending Fridays with her prayer group, seeing friends, and zipping around Kettering in her “MamaT 3” PT Cruiser. Anne’s greatest joy remained being with her family and she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren as “Mimi”. She gave the best hugs, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Anne is preceded to heaven by her beloved husband Leo; sister Jean Meseroll; and her parents.
Anne is survived by her three children and their spouses: Sarah (Timothy) Petterson, Emily Trick (Stefan Chinov), and Benjamin (Kathleen); grandchildren; Margo, Molly, Sammi, Leo, Eli, and Owen; siblings: Janet (David) Lentz, Joan Bennet, Mary Kay Meseroll, and Paul (Barbara) Meseroll; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends who are like family.
Anne’s family would like to thank all her close friends, neighbors, and prayer group ladies for their continued and unconditional love and support. The family would also like to thank the many caregivers at Miami Valley Hospitals, Bethany Village, and Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton for the excellent care they provided Anne.
