Aphrodite "Connie" Lane

April 15, 1925 — February 7, 2026

Kettering

Lane, Aphrodite “Connie” (Economides) formally of Kettering and Centerville, OH passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Connie was born in Oakwood, OH on April 15, 1925, to George and Evangeline Michael Economides. Connie honored her heritage and was raised in The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton. After her graduation from Oakwood High School, she met her future husband Glenn Lane at Lowe Brothers Company in Dayton where they both worked. After their marriage in 1948, they moved to Kettering where they lived and started their family. They chose the Presbyterian faith making Fairmont Presbyterian in Kettering their new church home.

Connie had many interests. She was an avid classical music enthusiast and as a longtime season ticket holder of The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, she enjoyed many concerts! She also LOVED her dogs and over the years, she was a pet mom to many lucky canines. She provided them with tender care, and they provided her with loyalty and companionship. Her Christmas cards usually featured Connie, her current dog(s) and Santa; very fond memories indeed. Connie enjoyed time in Florida where she and Glenn would take family vacations to visit her parents in Clearwater. Later in life, she became a snowbird with her own part-time residence in “The Sunshine State”. She loved the many friends she made in Florida, and they loved her!

Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Glenn Lane, parents, George and Evangeline Michael Economides, sister, Chrissoula Hodgkinson, daughter-in-law, Beth Lane, niece, Diane Maas, nephew-in-law, John Maas and brothers-in-law, John Howsmon and Jack Hodgkinson as well as brothers and sisters-in-law from the Lane side of the family.

She is survived by her sister, Maria Howsmon, son, Gary Lane and wife, Debbie, daughter, Marcia Lane Graeff and husband Richard, 1 grandson, Nathan, 4 granddaughters, Kim, Elaina, Abigail, Melanie, 11 great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
