Arline Frances Jenkins (Royer) passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Dayton, Ohio on January 30th 1939, to Milton and Hilda Royer, Arline grew up as a woman deeply rooted in the values of family and faith. Sadly, preceded in death by her son Dennis, her brother Deacon Skip Royer, and brother-in law Al Jenkins. Arline’s spirit lives on through a close-knit family and countless friends.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 67 years, William “Willie” Jenkins, and a loving family, including children Gary and Kim Jenkins, Judy and Ray Schreiter, Rick Jenkins, Katie and Laurie (Brodie) Jenkins, Donna (Denny) Jenkins, A proud grandmother to Brooke (Clark), Mike (Carly), Tessia (Chad), Clayton, Peter, Jacob (Brevin), Taylor (Carter), Cameron and Cooper. Her legacy reaches to 5 great-grandchildren Hadley Ann, Palmer, Hayden, Sutton and Jackson, her sister-in law Wanda (Skip) Royer, sister-in law Kay (Al) Jenkins, and many nieces and nephews.
Arline was a graduate of Julienne High School, a certified X-Ray Technician, and a certified Master Gardener. Her life was dedicated to her family creating a loving home with nights filled with her beautiful piano playing. She was also a dedicated UD Flyers Basketball fan and enjoyed being a season ticket holder for many years.
William and Arline were passionate about caring for children. As young parents they fostered newborn babies until they were placed with their forever families and later were involved with World Vision Ministries sponsoring the care of children around the world. They were recognized by World Vision Ministries for their outstanding contribution to the ministry.
Arline was deeply involved in ministry through her parish teaching CCD classes, participating in spiritual retreats, leading women’s bible studies and was a member of Women’s Aglow International.
Arline’s spirit and love remain present through her family and friends. In accordance with her family’s wishes, Arline’s life will be honored privately, and will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to World Vision International or St. Vincent DePaul of Dayton.
