Arthur w. Daubert

Arthur W. Daubert of Centerville, Ohio passed away on September 5, 2026; at 97 years old. Art had been a resident in the Saint Leonard Senior Living Community since 2004. He was the youngest of 4 sons born to Henry and Marie (Schmick) Daubert in Pine Island, NY, a small hamlet in the black dirt region of Orange County, New York.

Henry Daubert shared his love of hunting with his 4 sons and Art continued to hunt throughout his adult life as a member of the Whippoorwill Hunting Camp in the Catskill Mountains of New York, hunting with many treasured life-long friends.

In the late 1950s, Art, his brothers, and his uncle-built Art and Frances’ first home in Warwick, New York. In 1967, Art and Frances moved to Boonton, New Jersey, where they lived for the next 27 years before relocating to Kettering and in 2004 moved into Saint Leonard Senior Living Community in Centerville.

By trade Art was a precision tool maker and loved his work. Upon retiring and moving to Kettering in 1996 he worked at Sears-Roebuck as a sales-associate for almost 8 years. He also began volunteering in the Restoration Department of Wright-Paterson Air Force Base which he continued for the next 20+ years. One of his most treasured restoration projects was the Memphis Belle. He also volunteered within the St. Leonard Community singing with the Angel Choir, as a clerk in the mini market “Gee-Gees” and serving as a Eucharistic minister at the 9AM Mass on Sundays with Frances.

In addition to his volunteer activities, Art enjoyed reading, playing monthly poker games with other residents of the community and watching the abundant wild-life around the campus.

Art was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Frances Gemma (Caronia) Daubert, two of his sons Arthur H. and Brian J. Daubert and his 3 brothers, Albert, Erwin P. and Kenneth W. Daubert. He is survived by his daughter Jan Marie Lilburn, his son Gregory A. Daubert; 8 grandchildren: Joshua, Seth and Jacob Lilburn; Gregory W., Geoffrey, Mia, A.J. and Brian Daubert and 9 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at St. Leonard Chapel, 8100 Clyo Road, Centerville, OH 45458. Burial at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown, NJ at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Heart Association.
