Aurelia G. Schuster Palcher

SCHUSTER PALCHER, Aurelia G., age 87, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025. Aurelia was born January 4, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Loren and Aurelia (Bach) Schuster. She valued education, earning her MBA from the University of Detroit. In 1996, Aurelia married the love of her life, John Palcher. She had a long career in healthcare, and started on her path as a nurse, before working her way up to VP of Administration at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Aurelia traveled the world, visiting far-flung places such as the south Pacific, Africa, and Europe twice, touring London and Western Europe. She was a talented piano player, playing beautiful pieces. Aurelia was an avid reader, book club member, and author (The Peanut Principle), and her interests spanned both fiction and non-fiction. She was a resident of St. Leonard’s since January of 2022, and a member of the Centerville Women’s Optimist Club. Aurelia was a lifelong lover of the arts, and often spent her evenings attending The Dayton Ballet, where she also generously donated her time to DPAA. She had a giving heart and served with the Daughters of Charity from 1958-1990. She was a kind soul who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Jeleski, and Rosemary Whalen; brothers, Bobbie Schuster, and Johnny Schuster.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John Palcher; sisters, Betty Schuster, Carole Kennedy, Mary Jane Brett, and Joanne Schuster; and brother, Danny Schuster; step-son, John J. Palcher; step-daughter, Jennifer (Garrett) Paulcher-Silliman; and granddaughter, Harper Sillman.

Family will greet friends Monday, September 15 4:00pm-7:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 16 at 11:00am at St. Leonard’s, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, OH 45458. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., 45420.
