Barbara Hummel

HUMMEL, Barbara, age 91, of Centerville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Barbara was born on November 23, 1934 to parents George and Loretto Geiger. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and the love of her life, Howard Hummel; her brothers, Conan and William Geiger; and her sisters, Mary Catharine Staas, Anita Henley, Jeanne Fecke, Joyce Roberts, and Connie Geiger. Barbara is survived by special friends, John and Rhonda Mercs; and many nieces and nephews, including Erin and Floyd Eldridge, Laurie and Phil Lange, Sheila and Jeff Stutrud, Maria and Larry Suttman, Kate and Joey Hall, Nikki and Collins Griffith, Mary and Gerry Davis, Susan Henley, and George Staas. 

Barbara was loved by all who knew her. Like her siblings, with whom she was very close, she was strong and fiercely independent. She was generous and loving. She was passionate about traveling, the Southwest, the arts, and spending time with her family. Barbara and Howard spent many happy winters in their beloved Monterey, CA. 

Services are entrusted to Routsong Funeral Home. Prayers will be held at Routsong Centerville (81 N. Main St.) Thursday, December 4th at 11:00am. Barbara requested no visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery, alongside her husband.
