Barbara "Barb" J. Weller

WELLER, Barbara “Barb” J., age 93, of Oakwood, OH went to be home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Barb was born on May 1, 1932 to the late Carl and Susan Mueller, in Dayton, OH. She grew up in Dayton and graduated from Oakwood High School, class of 1950, before continuing her education at Ohio Wesleyan University. After graduating with her B.A in English, Barb married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, S. Russell Weller, on September 10, 1955. They settled in Oakwood, started their family, and she dedicated her life to creating a loving and nurturing home for her children and grandchildren.

Barb was a devoted follower of Christ who lived out Matthew 28:18-20 by sharing the gospel with others in both word and action. A longtime member of Patterson Park Church, she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and a Deaconess. Her love for God started at home. Each morning, she sent a Bible verse to her family members and prayed daily that her grandchildren would grow in wisdom and in their knowledge of the Lord.

The last verse she sent out was Proverbs 3:5.

Barb and Russ shared a lifetime of memories together. They shared a love for travel and treasured their family trips to Sanibel Island, Florida. At home, she was known for her warmth, and she was most often found in the kitchen. She was an expert cook, and lemon sponge, gravy, apple sauce and cherry pie were family favorites. Barb treasured the simple joys of life: walking, playing the organ, spending time outdoors, gardening, reading her well-worn Bible, and sitting at the table in her “Optimistic Yellow” kitchen.

More than anything, Barb loved her family and her greatest joy was spending time with them. Her joyful, faith-filled spirit left a mark on everyone who knew her, and her legacy of faith and love will live on in those who knew and loved her.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Charles and John Mueller.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Russ Weller; Julie (Bill) Stover, and Mary (Steve) Ross; grandchildren, Michelle (Nick) Glimsdahl, Andy (Hannah) Ross, Billy Stover, Christie (Carl) Johnson, Katie Ross, John (Siyu) Stover, Daniel (Robyn) Ross, and Matt Stover; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial at Mt. Zion Shoup. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Patterson Park Church - Give.
