FRYE, Bart A., age 61, formerly of Kettering, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022. Bart was born in Huntington, WV, and after his family moved to Ohio, he attended Beavercreek High School and Sinclair Community College. Bart was passionate about his family and faith; hot rods (lower it and put some wheels on it!); his “museum” of pop culture memorabilia; and rock music, having performed in bands for decades, including My 3 Sons. Bart could play any instrument, harmonize with the best of them, and shared his love of music and life with everyone he met.
Preceded in death by his father Les Frye, Bart is survived by his wife of 35 years Lynn, son Nick, mother Jeanne, sisters Beverly Tarin and Dee (Rex) Eagon, sisters- and brothers-in-law Lesley and Dale Walton and Michelle and Matt Smith, parents-in-law Jim and Bernice Midlam, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bart considered part of his extended family the members of Bonneville, the band formed by his son and friends, and the entire “Bonnevillage.”
Special thanks to all who cared for and inspired Bart in recent months, including the experts at Dayton Physicians Network, the incredible team at The James, and all who rendered care at Hospice of Dayton.
The family will receive visitors from noon-3:00 pm on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with a memorial service following. If desired, the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Dayton.
And that the next time you hear your favorite tune, you’ll crank it up to 11, in honor of Bart.
