Blanche Adam

ADAM, Blanche Stephens, age 90, born April 13, 1922 in Ironwood, Michigan and died July 5, 2012 in Kettering, Ohio. A nurse by training (B.N. Ball State University), Blanche grew to be the true matriarch of the Adam family through her endless faith, endless love, and endless optimism. She cared deeply for her family which inspired their deep devotion to her. She cherished her long and deep friendships which were a big part of her life. Blanche relished in the successes of her sons and grandchildren teaching them to see adversity as a natural challenge in life to overcome. Holiday celebrations and family trips to Sanibel Island were especially treasured. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Stewart Inglis Adam, Sr., MD, parents Thomas and Anne Stephens, and brothers Roy, Henry, Lisle, Orlin, and Robert. She is survived by sons, Stewart Inglis Adam, Jr., MD (wifePeggy), and Jeffery Stephens Adam, MD (wifeWynn), and grandchildren Tom, Stewart, Becky, Stephens, and Jack as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation to meet with family on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 5:00-7:00pm at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. On Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00am, a celebration of Blanche's life will be held at Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH 45429. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairmont Presbyterian Church where Blanche was a longtime member or to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton OH 45420.
