Bridget Halliden

Bridget Halliden of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Bridget was born in 1941 at Kilgory House, O’Callaghan’s Mills, County Clare, Ireland, to Denis and Bridget Boland McMahon. Bridget immigrated to the United States in 1959. A graduate of the Limerick School of Commerce, she worked for many years on Wall Street and at General Motors, in New York City. She spent many cherished years in Colts Neck, New Jersey and Cary, North Carolina, before moving to Ohio in 2004 to be closer to family.

Later in life she attended the Watts School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina. Becoming a Registered Nurse was one of her proudest, professional accomplishments. She worked as an RN for more than 20 years at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. A compassionate caregiver, she was recognized by her colleagues at Grandview with the 2012 Cameos of Caring Award for exceptional psychiatric care. For several years, she co-owned Positive Outlook, a small business dedicated to serving fellow breast cancer survivors. In her spare time, she was a Master Gardener, and she spent many enjoyable hours designing and tending to her garden. She was affectionately known for her storytelling, mischievous sense of humor, writing poetry, and her keen interest in finance, genealogy, and world affairs.

Bridget cherished her family above everything, and she was always there to help take care of her grandchildren, creating lasting memories with Jessica, William, Teddy, and Aisling Halliden, and Christopher Anderson and Bridget (Jace) McClain. Daniel, her loving husband of 60 years, predeceased her in 2024. She is survived by her son Dennis (Kristen), her daughter Maureen (Chris) Anderson, her son Brian, and her brother, Michael McMahon. She also leaves behind sisters and brothers in-law, Christina and James Kealy, Kathleen McGuiness, and John and Joan Halliden, of Ireland. In addition, she leaves behind numerous extended family members from the McMahon and Halliden families, who live across the United States and Ireland.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Drs. Priya Jain, Aaron Hanshaw, Franklin Handel, and their nursing staff for their compassionate care over the years. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
