BRENNER, Bruce Walter, age 78, passed away in Angeles City, Philippines, on June 2 2025. Bruce was born in Dayton Ohio April 9,1947.
He is preceded in death by parents, John L Brenner (U.S. Army) of Dayton, Margaret Barclay Brenner (U.S. Army) of Rochester NY; and brothers, Douglas Brenner (U.S. Air Force) and Keith Brenner (U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy).
Bruce is survived by brother, Jeff Brenner (U.S. Army); daughter, Chandel Brenner and Jamie, and nieces and nephews, as well as extended family in the Philippines.
Bruce was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enlisted at 17, deployed to Vietnam, and continued a 30-year career serving his country.
He loved to read, particularly sci fi/ fantasy and westerns. He was a huge fan of old black and white movies and John Wayne. His dream was to have his own boat and sail around the world.
Bruce’s memorial service will be held next Wednesday July 23 at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. We’re meeting at the front gate off Brown St at 2:45, with Memorial Services beginning at 3:00. If you knew Bruce, please come to pay your respects. If you’re a veteran, please come help us honor a 30-year U.S. Navy veteran. We want Bruce to have the sendoff he deserves.
Following services at Woodland, family and friends will gather at the Kettering VFW Post 9927, 3316 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45429, to share stories and memories of Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kettering VFW Post 9927.
