Carolyn Woods

Carolyn Woods, 79, passed away on October 30, 2025 after a brief illness. Born on November 21, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, Carolyn lived her life full of love with an adventurous spirit. Carolyn loved her family and friends, her schnauzer Mr. Bojangles, traveling to tropical places, Dancing with the Stars, and shopping for bargains.

A cherished sister, aunt, godmother, and friend, Carolyn will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the joy she brought to those around her. Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Curt and Oma Woods, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her sister Lucille Woods, her niece Samantha Woods, and sister-in-law Denita Woods. Carolyn is survived by her siblings Jeanette Murphy (Bill Brickey), Curtis Woods (Denita), Kenneth Woods, and Reta Pittl (Rudy). She also leaves behind her adored nieces and nephews, Greg Murphy (Nancy Weaver) and his children Jesse Murphy (Billie Mushroom) and Ryan Murphy (Melissa Scearce); Jennifer Chestnut (Billy); Jeff Woods; Sara Thomas (Matt) and her children Kylie, Olivia, Jillian, and Sara’s grandchildren Emersyn and Lovelyn, and a host of relatives and friends.

Carolyn graduated from Patterson Cooperative High School and enjoyed working for the NCR Corporation for over 35 years, eventually as Administrative Manager for the CEO, William Anderson. After retiring, Carolyn enjoyed living near the beach in Charleston, SC. Carolyn will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to call her family or friend.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering (2100 E Stroop Rd) on Saturday, December 13, from 1:00pm-4:00pm, to share memories and a meal. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will begin at 2:00pm.
