Cheryl Holland

Holland, Cheryl H. (Gelford), age 64, formerly of Springboro, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Cheryl was born in San Diego, California in on July 31, 1957 to Gerald J. Gelford and Ruth (Cannon) Gelford Ryle. She was a graduate of Spring Valley High School in 1975 and received her A.S. in nursing from Kettering Medical College in 1977. She went on to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, working for Kettering Anesthesia Associates for several years. Cheryl was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kettering, Ohio, serving as a Deaconess for several years. Previously she was also an active committee volunteer of the Heart to Heart Gala annual fundraiser for Kettering Medical Center, an active member of the Montgomery County Medical Auxiliary, and the Loma Linda Medical Auxiliary Dayton Chapter for many years. Cheryl's talents were many, her favorite of which was cooking, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and host who loved to welcome people into her home. She enjoyed traveling with her family throughout the world.

Preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Ruth. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Laurence Holland, MD; son, Andrew Holland; daughter, Shannon Drewry (Neil); grandaughter, Evie N. Drewry; siblings Krista Gelford, MD, Inga Gelford, Brendon Gelford, MD (Angeline), Tana Gelford Helvie (Brad), Byron Gelford, and Colin Gelford; brother-in-law Wesley Holland (Karen & Susan); nieces and nephews Anika Gelford, Weston Gelford, Alex Gaiser, Ilsa McCartt (Andrew), Emily Florence (Jared), Colton Helvie, Lauren Cherne (Jonathan), Lindsey Holland, and Elise Ciccarone (Giovanni) and numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N Main St, Centerville, OH 45459. Funeral services will be held at the Routsong Funeral Home in Centerville at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 19, 2022. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Compassionate Care and family member Christy Schultz.
