Christopher John Clayton

Christopher John Clayton, age 71, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on December 5, 2025, at Bethany Village in Dayton, Ohio.

A proud graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Christopher earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and dedicated his career to regional newspapers in Adrian, Michigan, and Ashtabula, Ohio. He was an active member of the Church of Incarnation in Centerville, where he regularly attended Mass.

In his younger years, Christopher cherished gardening and tended to flowers and local birds while living with his parents in Centerville. In July 2018, he moved to the Bethany Village assisted living facility, where he received loving care.

Christopher was preceded in death by his father, John Clayton (April 1988), and mother, Mary E. Clayton (June 2018). He is survived by his brother, James Clayton of San Jose, California, and his nephew, Alexander Clayton, and niece Anna Clayton, also of San Jose, California.

Mr. Clayton will be cremated, with funeral services scheduled for early 2026. He will be interred with his parents at David’s Cemetery in Kettering, Ohio.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the caregiving team at Bethany Village and to Ms. Wilma Karl and Ms. Betsey Keyes for their many years of friendship and visits to Christopher, which were greatly appreciated by all family members.
