Connie Morris

MORRIS, Connie, age 77, of Xenia, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024. 

Connie was born March 3, 1947 in Jamestown to the late William and May (Davis) Roden. She was a kind and gentle soul, serving where she was needed. Connie worked as an LPN for most of her life, providing help and compassion to everyone she cared for. While serving as an LPN, she worked as a librarian at Xenia Christian Schools. Connie later joined Kettering City Schools as a bus aide, forming a special bond with each child on her bus. She then worked for RGHI, and later transitioned to working for Open Options, where she worked up until October 2023, serving mentally handicapped adults. She loved traveling to Gatlinburg and could be found relaxing at Pigeon Forge. Connie was a generous and giving person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Morris; and siblings, William, Nancy, Ida, Gladys, Mayme, Willa, George, Herbert, and Howard. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tamara (Harry) Burchell and Heather (J.) Eldridge; grandchildren, Benjamin, Evangeline, and James; sister, Joan; and brother, Butch. 

Family will greet friends from 11:00am-12:00pm Wednesday, May 22 at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church, 1121 Dayton Ave., Xenia, OH 45385, with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00pm at the church. Connie will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Erica and Cati at Trinity, Tina at Arcadia, and the nursing staff at Continental Manor for their excellent care of Connie. Memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
