ALEXANDER, Cooper James, age 24, of Dayton, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025. Cooper was born July 9, 2001 in Davenport, IA to James and Kirstin (Hahlen) Alexander. A 2020 Centerville High School graduate, he attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH.
Cooper was a natural outdoorsman, spending countless hours hiking and fishing. He was employed by the State of Ohio, working at the Ohio State Parks. He never passed up a chance to explore state and national parks across the country, Red River Gorge being among his favorites. Cooper was a talented athlete, excelling in baseball and football. He had a good sense of humor and was a hard and dedicated worker. Cooper was a loving brother, a faithful friend, and an amazing son and grandson. His caring personality and deep love for his family and friends will be dearly missed.
Cooper is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Judy Alexander, Stephanie Hahlen, and Katherine Alexander. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, James and Kirstin Alexander; sisters, Cecelia and Scarlet Alexander; grandfathers, Harry Alexander, Jr. and Ron Hahlen; uncles Harry (Kelly) Alexander III, Todd (Laura) Hahlen, and Nathan (Mary) Meloy; and cousins, Nick, Kristina, Kara, Brooklyn, Thea, Cade, Aidan, and Sadie.
Family will greet friends Friday, September 12 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Funeral Services will begin at 6:00pm at the funeral home.
