Cyndi A. Pickering

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Cynthia “Cyndi” A. Pickering, 52, of Centerville, OH, on June 20, 2025. Cyndi was born on April 5, 1973 in Xenia, OH to Sally Wessinger. She grew up in Fairborn, OH and graduated from Fairborn High School in 1991. Cyndi continued her education at Wright State before attending cosmetology school. She was a long time hair stylist working in Centerville her entire career most recently at The Salon Lofts. She had a passion for making people look beautiful, and made many wonderful friends over the years. In 2007 Cyndi met Shawn Pickering and later married on January 5, 2013.

Cyndi truly loved people, but really loved animals. She had no tolerance of cruelty to others or to animals. She was a vocal and staunch advocate for those who needed love and protection. She wanted a better world. She wanted a kinder world. She wanted a more faithful world. Cyndi was a mirror. She reflected how to be better, kinder and more faithful in spite of the hardships she personally faced. Cyndi’s compassionate and determined spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jerome “GDog” Peppers; grandmother, Marjorie Peppers; paternal grandfather, Lewis Redd; grandmother, Lenora Redd; and biological father, Jerry Redd.

Cyndi is survived by her husband, Shawn Pickering; stepdaughter, Haylie Pickering; mother, Sally Wessinger; step-father, Jim Wessinger; her fathers and mothers-in-law, Will and Crystal Bevis and Gary and Paula Pickering; her sister, Tina Thomas; step-brothers, Mark (Marcie) Wessinger and Bobby (Shannon) Wessinger; step-sisters, Debbie Allen and Teresa Calabrese; and many other beloved members of her family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429 with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a favorite charity of your choice.
