Cynthia "Cindy" Hess

Hess, Cynthia Carol “Cindy,” age 68 of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Nick; and her parents, Richard and Beverly Scherack. She is survived by her siblings, Deborah (Steve) Freeze; Linda (Dave) Duffy; and Thomas (Kathy) Scherack. She is also survived by her children, Sarah Key; Anthony (Beth) Hess; grandchildren, Colbey Key and Margot and James Hess; her furry friend, Willow; and several other family members.

After many years with Towne Properties, Cindy retired, but soon realized she missed being around people. She then joined an after-school extended care program and was most recently employed at St. Charles “ChargerCare.”

Cindy loved her family immensely and would do anything for her kids, grand kids, and anyone who would ask. She didn’t know a stranger, enjoyed the beach, and always loved being surprised by seeing the number 32. To know Cindy, was to love her. She was amazing in every way and has provided countless memories to each person she encountered. We can take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with many people she treasured.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 14th from 10:00 to 12:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. A memorial service will follow visitation beginning at 12:00pm.
