Daniel P. Huser, age 80, of Kettering, Ohio passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Sunday September 29th 2024 surrounded by his entire family.

Dan started his life 5 days after his best friend and cousin Barry in Covington, Kentucky. He honed his love of great cars and dancing at St. Mary’s Canteen and graduated from Covington Catholic High School. Soon after he joined the Navy and served on the USS Lexington before working for Western Union and Monarch Marking Systems until he retired in 2000. An avid fisherman, he also loved to play a round of golf or a hand of poker with his friends. His constant passion was that of his faith and the Marianist Family. He enjoyed choral singing, whether it was in school or over the 40 years he sang with the Queen of Apostles choir. He was an active Lay Marianist as well as a mentor alongside his wife to the PULSE community during its first several years.

Dan had an unwavering love for Patricia, his wife of nearly 57 years, his children, and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Donald P. Huser, his mother Thelma E. Brown (nee Glenkler), father-in-law Victor H. Lampe, mother-in-law Evelyn Marie Lampe (nee Sipple), uncles Jack Glenkler, and Jim Glenkler. Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife Patricia J. Huser, daughters Kate Huser Santucci (Patrick Santucci), and Mary Margaret Atkinson (Nickolas Atkinson), grandchildren Zachary Garretson (Rebecca Bell), Leonardo Santucci (Kate Jones), Maximilian Santucci (Chelsea Santucci), Ivy Atkinson, Evelyn Atkinson, Sydney Atkinson (Aiden Shell).

Dan’s Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, October 12th at Mt. St. John.

Family will greet friends and loved ones from 9:30-11:00 am in the vestibule at Queen of Apostles Chapel before beginning the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. A reception will follow immediately in the Chaminade Center.

We are so grateful to our community of friends and family who offered their love, prayers, and support during Dan's struggle with ALS.
