TINNERMAN, David James, age 66, of Dayton, formerly Florida, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Dayton, OH. Dave was born August 13, 1956 to Agnes and Elmer Tinnerman in Milwaukee, WI. The family then moved to Dayton, OH where Dave attended Oakwood High School and was a standout football player and wrestler.
Upon graduating from Oakwood, Dave attended the University of Cincinnati and Ohio University before moving to the San Francisco, CA area where he worked in sales, construction, and horticulture.
Dave moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in the early 1980’s working in construction and playing rugby across the US. This is where Dave gained his love of racing and began his involvement with the SCCA racing emergency rescue team traveling to racetracks across the US. Dave had a gregarious and larger than life personality that each of us knew would turn out to be a fun time when in his company.
Always quick with a smile and story, Dave’s later years in Florida were involved with the American Legion, VFW and FOE organizations showing dedication and support of the US military.
Dave is survived by his siblings Sandy (Brickley), Bill and John Tinnerman. The memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 2 PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH. Please plan to stay for a friend’s reception following the ceremony.
