It is with a mix of profound sorrow and deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of David Wilson, who left us peacefully at the age of 60 on October 8, 2026. Born on January 2, 1966, David L. Wilson, Jr. was a proud resident of Centerville, Ohio, whose dedication to service and family created a legacy that will resonate for years to come. David served honorably as a combat engineer with the United States Armed Forces, a testament to his commitment to his country and community. An avid supporter of the Cleveland Browns, he brought joy and enthusiasm to game days, sharing his passion with family and friends. In addition to his military service, David was a devoted volunteer with SICSA, demonstrating his love for animals. David was very proud of his 37 years of sobriety and cherished relationship with the AA community. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Karen (Michael) Ewald of Dayton, Carol Evans of Centerville, and Linda (Dave) Litteral of Washington Township. His nurturing spirit lives on in his adoring nieces and nephews: Carl, Caleb, Claire, Tara, and Andrew, as well as his cherished great-nieces and nephews: Caiden, Carter, Jackson, Madilynn, Daniel, Jacob, and Joseph. David was predeceased by his dear wife, Amy Spears Wilson, in 2006, and his parents, David L. Wilson, Sr. and Donetta Rineer.
In celebrating David's remarkable life, we invite friends and family to gather in reflection and remembrance. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Routsong Funeral Home in Centerville. Family will receive guests immediately following the service. Please join us as we share stories, laughter, and tears in honor of a man who touched the lives of so many and leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, and loyalty. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SICSA or a charity of choice that reflects David's spirit of service. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts, as we cherish the moments shared and celebrate the indelible mark he has left on our lives.
