Dolores Amanda Balogh

April 14, 1935 — September 2, 2025

Dolores Balogh, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on September 2, 2025. Born Dolores Amanda Holder on April 14, 1935, to John and Muriel (McKinley) Holder, she was raised in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Belle Vernon Arca High School in 1952. Her connection to classmates remained strong as she attended her High School Class Reunions through 2020. A cup of coffee, her listening ear, and a strong investment in people made it easy for light-hearted and in-depth conversations alike. She was a true friend.

Dolores was detail oriented and worked in the administrative arena until starting a family. She continued her strong work ethic through 2024 balancing finances to the penny and managing the family's personal investment properties.

She was married for 66 years to Joseph Balogh, her Joey, of Dayton, Ohio where they lived and raised their family. She had several nicknames; Dee, Door, Aunt DoeDoe, but her most cherished was being called Morn and Meme by her three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, who were her world.

Over the last two years, Dolores remained focused as she managed treatments to fight lung and brain cancer. She continued to be the family matriarch and was always thankful for each day God blessed her on earth. Dolores and her family were surrounded by many wonderful doctors and nurses at The James and Ohio Hospice. A special thanks to one of her favorites, Dr. Robbie.

Dolores was an avid donor to many organizations that she felt a connection to support. Her generosity was grand with most recent donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and The James Cancer Hospital. She was sure to remind us that no contribution was too small.

"Not all of us can do great things. But we can all do small things with great love." ~ Mother Teresa.

In her memory, please consider a donation to a charitable service that touches your heart. Her legacy of love and kindness through compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

At Dolores' request she will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery, Kettering, in a private service with her immediate family present.
