Dominico “Dominic” “Don” Carone, age 73, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at The James Hospital, following a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Born on September 5, 1951, in Dayton, Dominic was the beloved son of Luigi and Maria Carone.
A proud graduate of Belmont High School, class of 1969, Don met the love of his life, Connie, in his junior year. They shared a deep and abiding love that spanned 50 years, marked by their marriage in 1975 and the raising of their two cherished children, Kyle and Cara. His family remained the cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted and loving husband, father, and Papa.
In the 1980s, Don embarked upon a successful career in commercial real estate, co-founding a company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with high school friends Denny Whitehead and Robin Risser. Later, he returned to Dayton and concluded his formal career at Heapy Engineering before embracing a part-time role at Ram Restoration alongside his dear friend, Randy Mount. Known as a jack of all trades, he possessed a remarkable ability to fix or build anything, while also finding joy and guidance in his annual astrology and psychic readings.
Don cherished his family and leaves behind a legacy of love. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Carone; daughter, Cara (Brendan) Boyle, and their three children, Jack, Ryan, and Brooke; son, Kyle (Stefanie) Carone, and their two sons, Domenico and Luca; as well as his siblings Anna Hous, Max Carone, Frank Carone, and Luigi Carone Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luigi and Maria Carone, and Connie’s parents, Ford and Pauline Gudgell.
Don will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, spirit, and generosity of heart will forever resonate in the lives he touched.
