Donald Lee Fischer

FISCHER, Donald L., age 85, of Centerville, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Donald was born on April 11, 1941, to the late Philip and Mary Fischer, in Centerville, OH. He was a 1959 graduate of Chaminade Julienne High School and 1963 graduate of the University of Cincinnati School of Pharmacy. He served as a US Navy Lieutenant from 1964, until his honorable discharge in 1970. During this time, he served in Vietnam, earning a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam One Star Bronze Medal. While serving, he met his one true love, Andrea Grady. They wed in Andrea’s hometown of Warwick, Rhode Island in December 1965 and remained together for 57 years until her passing in 2023.

Donald was a respected Pharmacist for 42 years, well known for his long tenure at Hill’s Pills Pharmacy, serving the Centerville community. A man of faith, with a calm demeanor, Donald was dedicated to his family and enjoyed documenting his family through photography and genealogy. His kind, caring manner and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother David, and his wife Andrea. Donald is survived by his children: Christine (Justin) Vesely and their children Nicky, Sam, and Oliver; Timothy (Alison) Fischer and their children Brandon, Kaitlyn, Dan and Sam; Ann Marie (Phillip) Scalero and their children Mason and Owen; and his sisters Mary Ann, Sharon, Phyllis, Carol and Teresa. The family would like to thank the Bethany Village Memory Care staff and Bethany Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Donald over the past 3 years. 

Visitation: Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 4-6pm, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429. Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:30am, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45459.
