Donna Rae Giffin (Nee Williams)

GIFFIN, Donna Rae (nee Williams), age 74, of the Villages, FL, formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Donna was born on October 7, 1948 to Ray and Dorothy Williams, in Dayton, OH. She attended Fairmont West High School and graduated from Beavercreek High School, class of 1966.

Donna cherished time spent with her four daughters, son-in-laws, and 16 grandchildren, whether it was in person or on the phone. Donna was witty and had a great sense of humor. She wasn’t afraid to offer advice from the many lessons she learned throughout her life. She thrived on planning family gatherings - from the menu to the family games. She treasured making family memories.

Donna's creativity never ceased as she enjoyed being artistic. She was once known for her beautiful decorative cakes and her exquisite floral arrangements. When she moved to Florida in 2009, she took delight in being near the palm trees, ocean, sun, and sand.

Donna had an exceptional love for movies, music, games, and the casino. She would gladly watch a movie with someone, even if she’d seen it multiple times, just to see their reaction. She loved how music could say what she couldn’t and make you remember things you thought you forgot. Donna was the euchre partner you wanted, the wizard at trivia, and the poker player to beat.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronald Williams; and grandson, Adam Paynter.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Tammy Paynter, Tracy (Bob) Babal, Sherry (Bill) Werner, and Shelley (Tony) Zile; siblings, Sharon (Hairy) Bridges, Diane Dahlin, Richard Williams, and Randy Williams; grandchildren, Sean “Nick” (Danielle) Paynter, Seth Paynter, Daniel (Tricia) Babal, Courtney (Nolan) Schacherer, Chris Babal, Allison (Tyler) Adams, Jacob Babal, Kathryn Babal, Trent, Ava, and Meredith Werner, Jason, Kevin, Luke, and Mark Zile; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Quentin, and Ethan Paynter, Kylie and Kaden Paynter, Margot and True Houser, Abigail and Vera Babal, and Raegan Adams; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 4:00 - 6:00pm, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH, 45429, with a Remembrance Service to be followed, where guests are welcomed to share memory.
