Douglas Michael Neef

Douglas M. Neef, age 67, a lifelong resident of Kettering, Ohio, passed away at home August 6, 2025. The service at Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering will be scheduled later. Doug was a graduate of Fairmont West High School, who then moved into a professional life of entrepreneurship highlighted by his automotive repair business which served the community for over 30 years. Doug's business, hobbies, and interests centered on all things mechanical. His interest in custom cars, antique motorcycles, and most of all his passion for collecting and restoring mini-bikes endeared him to a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Doug's sharp wit, humor, and unmistakable charisma blessed him with an astonishing number of personal and professional relationships.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife Tonia, daughter Sara, brother Jeff, and parents Anne (Szakal) Neef and Herbert Neef. Doug is survived by his grandchildren, Kailynn, Jayden Abshear of Miamisburg, and sister-in-law, Phyllis Neef of Estero, Florida. He is also survived by many cousins, especially his friend and cousin Bo Szakal. Doug had too many friends to count, and they all loved him dearly. He will be missed terribly, as no one will ever replace the personality that was Douglas M. Neef.

It also has to be noted that Doug was a lifelong animal lover and protector. Consequently, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to SISCA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center. A visitation is planned for Friday, August 29, 2025 at Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio from 10am-12pm. A memorial service will follow at noon on the same day at Routsong Funeral Home at 2100 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering.
