Edward R. Hoecker

HOECKER, Edward R., age 74, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons Disease. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Florence (Miller) Hoecker. He graduated Oakwood High School Class of 1951, received a BS degree in Business at Miami University Class of 1955 and served in the US Air Force as a SAC pilot. Ed's career was in the mortgage banking business and was Vice President of Moyer Mortgage and then worked at Citizens Federal until retirement. Ed enjoyed flying, the symphony, golf, horse racing and travel. He was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church, Mortgage Bankers Association, and the Vandalia Flying Club. Ed never expressed an unkind word about anyone and lived by the Golden Rule. Survivors are his sister, Ruth Ellen Hoecker of Oakwood, his children; Kenneth (Kim), Deborah Teague, Susan (James) Snell, Tracy (Joe) Vores and grandchildren, cousins; Patricia (James) Thornton, Timothy (Shawnee) Ewing, Jon (Chris) Ewing and children and longtime special friend Lynda Hohnhorst. Memorial services will be held 12 PM Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH with Rev. Brooks Heck officiating followed by a time of fellowship. Burial at Davids Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
