ELEANOR J. Davis, age 97, passed away on August 7th, 2017. Eleanor Josephine was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 18, 1919. She was a lifetime member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She was also member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
Eleanor worked at Frigidaire and the Rike-Kumbler Company. She was a graduate of Parker Co-Op High School (Patterson Co-Op). Eleanor was a very strong person with a kind heart. Family and friends would refer to her as feisty and she was sure of herself. This personality and spirit is one of the reasons she lived to 97 years of age.
She loved people and made friends wherever she went and kept many if these friends for life. Above all Eleanor loved her family and was always there for any help or support needed. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry C. Davis, whom she married on October 10, 1942 at St Adalbert Catholic Church in Dayton. Harry passed away on October 24, 1986. She is also preceeded in death by her parents, Peter and Josephine (Bogaszewicz) Chmielewski, two brothers, Stanley and Peter Chmielewski and one sister, Cecelia (Chmielewski) Dembski, and son Thomas Davis. Eleanor is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law Richard P. Davis and his wife Susan (Pleiman) of Naples, Florida and daughter Cynthia S. Davis. Eleanor was also blessed with one grandchild, Richard B. Davis and his wife Katherine (Hunsaker) of Dublin, Ohio. Eleanor also had three great-grandchildren Ryan Christopher, Mia Claire, and Logan Richard Davis. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
