Franklin "Frank" Lilly, Jr.

Franklin "Frank" Lilly, Jr., also known as "The Rose Man," passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the age of 66 in his hometown of Dayton, OH. Born on July 17, 1957, to the late Franklin and Virginia (Fisher) Lilly, Sr., Frank was a beloved member of the community.

After graduating from Lima High School, Frank carved out a unique place for himself in Dayton. You couldn't miss him with his vibrant personality and his armfuls of flowers that he handed out at local establishments. He brought a touch of joy and color to the hearts of those he met. Truly, he was a living embodiment of his nickname, "The Rose Man."

When he wasn't spreading cheer with his floral gifts, Frank enjoyed taking chances at the casino, especially trying his luck at Blackjack and slots. He loved the thrill of the game. In 2023 alone, he embarked on five cruises, indulging his wanderlust and always seeking new adventures. Frank had a zest for life that was infectious.

Frank is survived by his dear friend, Laura Teutsch, with whom he shared many meaningful memories. He also leaves behind two children and a vast network of customers and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness. His faithful companion, his beloved dog, Baby, will miss his warm presence and gentle companionship.

A gathering for friends and family will be held 5-7PM on Friday, February 9 with a celebration of life beginning at 7PM at Dublin Pub, 300 Wayne Ave, Dayton, OH 45410.

Franklin Lilly, Jr., "The Rose Man," will forever be remembered for his generosity, larger-than-life personality, and his ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. His spirit will live on through the seeds of kindness he planted in our hearts. Rest in peace, Frank. We will miss you dearly.
