BAKER, Gloria W., age 91, of Centerville, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2025, surrounded by friends and family.
Gloria was born on April 18, 1934 in Ferndale, MI to parents Maurice and Marie Townsend. She was part of “The Fab Seven”, a group of lifelong friends who enjoyed many travel adventures and wildly good times together. While living in Ferndale, Gloria met Ted Baker, the love of her life. They married in 1958 and had two beautiful daughters.
The family moved to Centerville, Ohio in 1968 so that Ted could accept a position with the City of Dayton, followed by an engineering design role at WPAFB. Gloria graduated from Sinclair College with a degree in business, and worked in administrative support at WPAFB for many years.
Gloria loved to travel the world with her friends and family and experienced 42 countries during her lifetime. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and GiGi to five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted Baker; daughter, Nancy Baker; sister, Marion Joyce; and niece, Diane Burns.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Dundon (Bill Kilroy); grandson, Dr. John (Dr. Suzanne) Dundon; granddaughter, Dr. Amanda (Landon) Hough; great-grandchildren, Zane and Emma Hough, and Ava, Alexandra, and John Dundon.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Woodland Cemetery's Tiffany Chapel at 9:30am with a service to follow at 10:30am. A Celebration of Life Lunch will follow at The Patterson (4175 Indian Ripple Rd).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the teams from The Patterson and Day City Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center.
