EDWARDS, Greg, age 59, of Dayton, was called home on Saturday, August 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 13, 1964, in Middletown, OH, to William and Carolyn Edwards. Greg graduated from Valley View High School class of 1982 before earning his B.S. from The University of Dayton. He continued his education at Xavier University while raising his young family as well as getting his career started at the IAMS Company.
Passionate about mentoring and coaching youth and adult baseball, he left a legacy on a generation of athletes. A longtime and avid sports fan, Greg’s favorites were numerous and included Notre Dame, St. Louis Blues, Cincinnati Reds, and of course Tiger Woods. Greg loved to travel with his family and especially loved Maine and Jackson Hole, WY. In his free time Greg could be found enjoying sports, playing golf with friends and family at Yankee Trace, and eating Skyline Chili. He appreciated the simple and joyful things in life; sugary sweets, SpongeBob, and Mountain Dew. Greg was quietly generous and loved a good rom-com with a predictable ending. He had great pride is his wardrobe and an impeccable shoe game. A man with crystal clear values, he prioritized his family first. His wife, kids and grandkids were his absolute everything.
Greg is preceded in death by his grandmothers Gladys Frisch and Corda Wilkins.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kasi Edwards; daughters, Jessica (Dave) Parker, Lyndsey (Steven) Yost, and Maggie Edwards; grandchildren, Larkyn Thiel, Jolie Parker, and David Parker; step-children, Cade Westendorf and Carly Westendorf; parents, William and Carolyn Edwards; sisters, Susanne Edwards, Lori (Bill) Jones; brother-in-law, Ryan “Bubba” Weaver; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Last but not least, Greg is survived by his buddy and fur baby, Molly.
