THOMPSON, Harold P., age 93, of Washington Township, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Harold was born on February 9, 1932, to the late William “Virgil” and Gertrude Thompson, in Kings Mountain, KY. He grew up in Kings Mountain and graduated from Junction City high school before continuing his education at University of Kentucky. Following his education Harold enlisted with the US Army and served in the signal corps for two years and spent time overseas. Following his enlistment Harold married his high school sweetheart, Ann Cunningham, and together lived for a year in Panama during his deployment before returning to the States. Upon their return to the states, they settled in Cincinnati where Harold worked for the Avco Electronics Co. as a calibrations engineer, eventually making their way up to the Dayton area, where they started their family in 1958. In Dayton he worked for several companies before starting his own company, Applied Processors, in 1979. After over 50 years working in electronics engineering Harold retired in 2012 To spend more time with his friends and family. He could often be found cheering on his beloved Kentucky Wildcats during basketball season. His most important calling was to serve the church, most recently at First Baptist Kettering. There he worked as a Deacon, greeter, and constant regular volunteer for over 20 years. His faithful and helpful spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his four brothers, Frebert, Lynnville, Gerald, and Houston Thompson.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of, 70 years, Ann Thompson; son, Jeff (Tammy) Thompson; grandchildren, Josh Thompson, Nathan (Amy) Thompson, Brittany (JT) Tomlin; great-grandchildren, Jaxin, Penelope, Brooklyn, Layla, Brody, Xander, and Willow; and numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10-11am, on Friday, July 25, 2025, at First Baptist Kettering, Sugarcreek Campus, 3939 Swigart Rd. Sugarcreek Township, OH 45440, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11am. Burial at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Kettering at https://fbk.church/give.
