SLAGLE, Helen Mae (WERT), a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she passed away Monday, July 25, 2005. She was 97, a native of Ithica, Ohio and resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 5 p.m. until Religious Services at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005. Visiting at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH, from 12 p.m. until Religious services at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kettering, OH. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene Louise Slagle Young and Dr. Myron Hwai-Hsi Young; five grandchildren, Dr. Luke Titus Young and wife Ruth Whitelaw Young, Linda Young Lotfi and husband, Younes Lotfi, Dr. David Timothy Young, Dr. Jonathan Paul Young, and Susan Grace Young; and five great-grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, and Joshua Lotfi, Steven and Jessica Young.H Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Melvin Millard Slagle; father and mother, William and Savelle Solomon Wert; and a brother, Leon Vanwert.
