Helena Loretta Schmidt

SCHMIDT, Helena L., age 81, of Oakwood passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 5, 2005. A long time resident of the area, Helene was co-owner of the former Inn Restaurant in Kettering, a member of St. Albert the Great Church and the Short Hills Garden Club. She was preceded in death by a brother, J. Joseph Graham, and two sisters, Janice Comisar and Irene Lyle. Helene is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Schmidt; a son, Jack (Jeri) of Oakwood, two daughters, Darrell (Ken) May of Kettering and Lisa (Scott) McDonald of Oakwood; grandchildren, Dr. Ken May Jr. and Steffan May of Columbus, Kristin Schmidt of Durham, NC, Kaitlin Schmidt of Oakwood and Kelsey and Paige McDonald of Oakwood; nephews, Bruce Comisar, Robert Lyle, David Graham and nieces Joanne Boland and Susan Lyle and a special sister-in-law, Frances Graham. Helene leaves behind numerous friends and will be greatly missed. Her body has been donated to the Wright State University Medical School. A memorial Mass is planned for Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 AM at St. Albert the Great Church. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her memory to St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH 45429 or a charity of your choice.
