Hervey "Herv" Peebles

Peebles, Hervey Alexander, age 88, formerly of New Kensington, PA. passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was a graduate of New Kensington High School, class of 1954 and received his BS in psychology from Washington & Jefferson in 1959, followed by his MA from Webster College in 1977. Following high school, Hervey spent 2 years in the US army in Okinawa, Japan. Hervey joined the US Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1962 and was stationed at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS., followed by Randolph AFB, Texas; Lackland AFB, Texas; Clark AFB, Philippines; Udorn AFB, Thailand; Maxwell AFB, Alabama; Randolph AFB, Texas where he retired as a Major in 1982. He enjoyed many excursions and outings with his family during the years he spent overseas. Herv moved back to New Kensington, PA and settled there for over thirty years and enjoyed his time with many friends. He spent his final two and a half years with his daughter and son-in-law in Kettering, Ohio where he got to spend time with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lemuel D. and Lysle M. Peebles, as well as his brother Robert F. Peebles and Sister-in-law Sherry (Anderson) Peebles.

He is survived by daughter, Kelly Hannan and husband Ronald Hannan Jr. and their 4 children, Alex Hannan, Joseph (Mickayla) Hannan, Andrew (Blanca) Hannan, and their daughter Isabella, Molly (Blake) Bonds and their daughter Scarlett; Son, Bill Peebles and his wife Susan, and their 2 children, Skylar (Patrick) Hodgson and their sons Luka and Liam; and Ella Hodgson; daughter, Kathryn Smith her husband Kenny Smith, and their daughter Emily (Michael) Lindsey; nephew Bob Peebles Jr.; niece, Kristy Nies; and numerous extended family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life service in New Kensington (TBD) and a service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, also TBD. He will be truly missed. Many Special thanks to his girlfriend, Carol Corchia and her family, Casey, Carley, Don, Kirstin, Ryan, and Justin for being his second family, he loved them dearly. A special thanks to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton for their compassion and kindness towards Hervey (and his family) while in their care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
