FEVERSTON, Jack E., age 97, of Centerville, OH went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Jack was born on November 1, 1928, in Dayton, OH to the late Donovan and Sylvia Feverston. He graduated from Stivers High School before beginning his career with NCR. His time with NCR was put on hold by the Korean conflict where he served stateside with the United States Army. While on leave he married the love of his life, Barbara Subler, in her hometown of North Star, OH. Upon his discharge from the Army, he returned to NCR where he concluded a 43-year career. Jack was heavily involved with youth sports and coached his children's little league baseball teams. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Incarnation for over 70 years. Following Barb’s passing in 2012, he became passionate about painting, and spent countless hours perfecting his art at Olde Master’s Galleria in Centerville.
Jack was a consummate DIY aficionado. Whether woodworking, mechanics, plumbing or inventing a fix with found objects, Jack could deliver. His love of the outdoors began in his youth, running trap lines through the undeveloped stretches of the Little Miami watershed. As a young man, he and his father and brothers built a distinctive A-frame cabin in the woods — a place that became central to family life. There, Jack taught his children and grandchildren to fish, appreciate nature, and value time together. This family time extended into weekly dinners at his home where good conversation and much joy was shared. Jack’s friendly, inquisitive, and outgoing character will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Feverston; and brother, Bill Feverston.
Jack is survived by his children, Lynn (Alan) Niergarth, Mark (Tammy) Feverston, Michael (Nancy) Feverston, and Matthew (Julie) Feverston; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jewel), James (Lindsey), Thomas (Abigail), Derek (Elizabeth), Sara (Michael), Daniel (Dylan), Jana (Adam), Sean (Elise), and Jonathan (Shiloh); 11 great-grandchildren (with one on the way); brother, Gary (Patricia) Feverston; and numerous extended family and friends.
