Jackie Gentry

GENTRY, Jackie, age 75, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of The Bronx, NY, went to be home with the Lord on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was born on December 15, 1950, to the late Henry and Ruby Gentry, in Cincinnati, OH. At a young age Jackie and her family relocated to New York, where she grew up, and graduated from Washington Urban High School, class of 1968. Jackie had a long career as an accountant while living in New York, working for Sevco with helping people get into apartments. She retired in 2006, and in 2011 Jackie moved back to the Dayton area to be closer to her family. While in Dayton Jackie volunteered for Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton as an Outreach caller for Pathways of Hope. She also spent countless hours as a volunteer at Montgomery County Juvenile courts, where she participated in various activities with the youth. She was a longtime member of Revival Ministries Church. Jackie enjoyed traveling and visited far off places such as Alaska, the Caribbean, and Mexico. She was always happy when she and her family went out to eat together. Jackie’s loving nature, grace, and strength will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane Johnson; and nephew, Trevor Johnson.

Jackie is survived by her siblings, Gregory Gentry, Dewayne Gentry, and Lynn Olowoniyi; nephews, Gregory (Shabrae) Gentry Jr., Dewayne White, and Christopher Gentry; nieces, Devonda Gentry, Quiana Gentry, Meah Virge, Alexandria Treadwell, and Mariah Beavers; and other extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11-12pm on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429, with a memorial service to follow at 12pm. A livestream of the service will be available via Routsong’s YouTube channel. A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike Cincinnati, OH 45246 later that day. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
