James E. Davis

DAVIS, James “Jim” E., age 64, of Kettering, formerly of Dayton, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the city of Kettering for 34 years. Jim worked at the Enviropolymer & Chemical Company for 10 years. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Dortha Davis, and brother-in-law, Mark Schmolinski. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara “Bobbie”; sons, Bert (Sherri) Dix, Scott Dix, and Rick (Janet) Dix; daughter, Barbara Dix; seven grandchildren, Shannon Dix, Brittney Martin, Bradley Martin, Jacob Dix, Jeremy Dix, Justin Dix, Matt Thompson; brothers, John Davis and Tom Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (Doody) Bystrek, Phyllis Smith, Butch (Lori) Schmolinski, Tom (Brenda) Horner; many nieces and nephews; friends, Bill (Donna) Meyer, Dave (Ginny) Luken, Gene (Pat) Paff, Tom Flanaghan, Jim (Elaine) Shank, Jim (Marilyn) Neary; long-time buddies, Lee Turner, Dave Elston; and many more good friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday March 23, 2006 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Rev. Brooks Heck officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5-8:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
