Janet M. Schermbeck

SCHERMBECK, Janet M, age 68, of Kettering, OH, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.  Janet was born on April 3, 1955, in Thief River Falls, MN to the late E. Dale and Marjorie Carlson.  After graduating from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, class of 1973; she continued her education at Minnesota State University Moorhead, graduating in 1977 with a degree in Journalism. 

She enjoyed art and photography, gardening, enjoying a nice meal with family and friends, her pets, and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. After moving to Ohio, she joined Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church in Kettering; where she shared her time and energy as Worship and Music Committee Coordinator, working on the church bulletin and newsletter, and assisting with Vacation Bible School in the summer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Schermbeck; sister, Ruth Carlson and brother, Barry Carlson. She is survived by her son, James Carlson; sisters, Wanda Sobotka, Katie (Sang Rog) Choi, and Nancy (Robin) Kittelson, and many nieces and nephews.
