Jennifer Elizabeth Wise

WISE, Jennifer Elizabeth, age 60, of Bellbrook, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023. Jennifer was born November 14, 1962 in Valparaiso, IN, to Thomas and Carol (Henry) Saygers. She had a great love of learning, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1984, and her master’s in engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1987.

Along with learning, Jennifer had a passion for teaching. She taught engineering courses at Sinclair Community College, where her students loved her, and her colleagues thought her intuitive. Jennifer also worked for the USAF at Wright Patterson AFB. She worked in a number of different offices, her most recent assignment being involved with Foreign Military Sales with France and had a career spanning almost 15 years. Jennifer always loved the C130J aircraft, a legacy aircraft that can perform many missions, including humanitarian aid, firefighting, and cargo.

Jennifer had a nurturing soul, whether in her garden growing beautiful flowers, or encouraging the growth of family and friends. She was generous and warm, and made each person feel special. Jennifer never did things halfway and would always have gifts ready to celebrate any occasion. She was an excellent seamstress, a beautiful singer, and an incredible host. But above all else, Jennifer was devoted to her family. Her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Saygers. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 35 years, Rob Wise; daughters, Mary (Brett) Scheiner and Betsy (Carl Christiansen) Wise; grandson, Ethan Scheiner; mother, Carol Saygers; brother, Scott Saygers, and numerous friends and colleagues.

Family will greet friends from 9:45am-10:45am Wednesday, August 9 at the Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Ln., Dayton, OH 45459. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00am at church. Memorial contributions may be made in Jennifer’s name to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 or Five Rivers MetroParks, 409 E. Monument Ave, Dayton, OH 45402. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dayton for their excellent care of Jennifer.
