Aleshire, Jimmie “Jim”, age 83 of Centerville, passed away peacefully at home on July 15th, 2026. He was born on September 12th, 1942 to parents Stanley and Delsie Aleshire and spent his younger years in Pomeroy, OH.
After graduating high school, Jimmie joined the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He spent two years with the Army before receiving his honorable discharge. Following his military service, Jimmie worked for Frigidaire before transferring to General Motors, where he spent over 30 years in the paint department.
Jimmie was an outgoing soul who never knew a stranger. He enjoyed greeting shoppers at Walmart, taking pictures at car shows, and fishing. Most of all, Jimmie was a devoted husband, father, and Papaw. He was so proud of his family and thoroughly enjoyed talking to others about their accomplishments. He loved animals, especially his dogs Lucky and Lacey.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Beverley, Joyce, and Paula.
Survived by his loving wife, Patricia Aleshire; son, Rodney Aleshire; daughter, Tammy Aleshire, and grandson, Joey Wilson; brothers, Carl and Quincy Aleshire, and sister, Joanne King.
Friends and family will gather for visitation on Wednesday, July 29th from 3-5pm at Routsong Funeral Home Kettering (2100 E. Stroop Rd) with a memorial service to follow. Following services, a Celebration of Life will be held at Marion’s Pizza on Stroop.
