Joellen Koepnick Wood

On August 29th, 2013, Joellen Koepnick Wood of Carrollton, Texas passed away following a 13-year, hard-fought battle with cancer. Joellen was born on April 2nd, 1953 to Joseph and Patricia Koepnick in Dayton, Ohio. She attended Carroll High School in Dayton graduating in 1971 and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. In the late '90s, she began utilizing her gift as a computer science teacher in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After relocating to Dallas, Joellen continued her teaching career at the Episcopal School of Dallas. Joellen is survived by her husband, Tom Wood, her son, Greg Wood, her daughter, Elizabeth Wood, and her mother, Patricia Heimbuecher, all of whom were by her side when she passed. She is also survived by her brother Jim Koepnick, her brother Joe Koepnick, and her sister Lyn McAtee. Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 21st at 11 a.m. at the Routsong Funeral Home at 2100 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering. Family will receive visitors following the service from 12 noon until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation are requested.
